Ingredients

8 good-quality hard corn taco shell, alternatively soft flour tortillas- you can purchase from most authentic Mexican restaurants as they make them fresh

500 grams good quality lean ground beef

¼ cup brown onion, diced

1 tablespoon tomato paste

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon chili powder, ground

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper, ground

½ teaspoon oregano, dried

2 teaspoon cumin, ground

1 teaspoon dry garlic, ground

1 teaspoon cornstarch

pinch red pepper flakes (optional)

½ cup water

Method

1.    In a large nonstick skillet over medium heat and sauté, the beef with all the ingredients.

2.    Allow at least 10 minutes to cool.

3.    Build-your-own tacos- any way you want, any toppings.  We suggest: diced lettuce, chopped tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, Mexican rice, black beans, mashed fresh avocado.
